Ancien élève de l’Ecole Normale Supérieure, Docteur en physique théorique, Marc Barthelemy est chercheur au CEA depuis 1992 et membre associé au CAMS depuis 2008. Il a travaillé sur des applications de la physique statistique aux réseaux complexes, à l’épidémiologie et plus récemment sur les réseaux spatiaux. Il est coauteur, avec Alain Barrat et Alessandro Vespignani, du livre « Dynamical processes on complex networks » (2008). En se concentrant à la fois sur l’analyse des données et la modélisation, il travaille actuellement sur divers aspects de la science émergente des villes.
Marc Barthelemy is a senior researcher at the Institute of Theoretical Physics in Saclay (CEA) and a member of the Center of Social Analysis and Mathematics (EHESS). He has worked on applications of statistical physics to complex networks, epidemiology, and more recently, spatial networks, and is the co-author, with Alain Barrat and Alessandro Vespignani, of Dynamical Processes on Complex Networks (2008). Focusing on both data analysis and modeling, he is currently working on various aspects of the emerging science of cities.
